Nars Outremer

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Nars. I love the vibrant colours, I hate the extortionate Euro pricing. I love the soft texture and how pigmented the products are, I hate that two of the products shattered after one single drop (hungry floor syndrome as call it).  I am on a shopping ban at the moment but *terms and conditions do apply* and one of the terms would be if there is an amazing new Autumn collection (I may in fact be making the terms and conditions up as I go).  The words Limited Edition make me very excited (and my bank balance very sad) I had seen some information on Nars Autumn Collection a while ago and the standout shade for me was Outremer.  Nars describe this as a 'bright true blue', lets take a look.

Outremer (pronounced in a fancy french way not Out Reamer - in a flat Dublin accent by the way) is a bright blue almost verging on purple. The colour is beautiful.

Outremer is a matte colour which, if I am being honest, are not my favourite textures to use, in fact I find them a bit of a bugger.  Outremer is no exception. When you swipe it the colour comes out as intense as it is in the pan but it is a bit patchy.  The colour is buildable but I find matte colours harder to work with. I had to press the colour onto the lid and work with a primer to build it up.  The colour is stunning but it is a pain in the bum to work with.

(By the way the little swipe of eyeliner on my hand is one of the new Urban Decay liners that I had a little play with, these suckers don't move -  this stayed on my had all day and in the shower. I cant wait to check them out when they are released)

Here is a shot of me playing around with Outremer (I will always pronounce it Out Reamer) - it is a stunning vibrant shade that is worth the effort (even if you curse at it when you're putting it on).  Sorry for the slightly crap picture -  as you can see I had a bit of fallout but my camera died just as I took this picture so it was this or nothing.  By the way, on my lashes is the new Avon Super Shock Max Mascara which I have been trying out (and loving).  Will you be buying anything from Nars Autumn collection?  This picture sold Outremer to me. What do you think?

I bought this in Brown Thomas for the eye watering price of €24.00 but Nars cosmetics are available from ASOS and HQ Hair where single eyeshadows are £16.50.  (Euro price inflation or what?)
