Review: The Body Shop Nutriganics Softening Cleansing Gel

I must confess that before I bought this, it had been at least ten years since I bought something in the Body Shop. However, I've been loving hot cloth type cleansers like Eve Lom's Cleanser, Soap and Glory's The Fab Pore and Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish, so I was really interested when I saw a review of this new Body Shop Cleanser on Beaut.ie. The Body Shop's version is all kinds of organic and ethical, containing 99% natural ingredients and Fair Trade sourced products. But is it any good?

My skin was in fairly shoddy condition last month after a prolonged series of breakouts which I was trying to combat with fairly heavy duty salicylic acid products, including the Garnier Pure Active Exfo-Brusher Wash which basically smells like Jif (Cif but it'll always be Jif in our house). This is very effective at drying up spots and getting rid of blemishes which is great and all, but didn't do much for the dry skin on my cheeks - seriously, how can you have dry flaky skin and big angry spots at the same time?! The hack of me.

I bought this in the hope that it would balance out my skin and I have to say it has worked extremely well. It is a gel to oil cleanser, so you apply it to dry skin, and as you massage it in, it turns into an oil. It can be rinsed off, or I remove it with a muslin cloth (I get mine in the Dunnes baby department). I find it gentle enough to rub over my eyes to remove the bulk of my eye make-up. This smells gorgeous, as you can probably imagine from the ingredients list below, and it feels like you're giving your skin a proper treat. I would have been quite lazy when it came to removing make-up but I actually look forward to doing it with this product!

This is €13.60 for 100 mls. While I was buying it, I also got one of the Body Shop's rewards cards which gives you 10% off your purchases for a year, as well as free products when you've collected so many stamps (you get a stamp for each purchase). Does anyone else have one of these? Bit worried cause I only noticed afterwards that mine says it's only valid in UK stores... hmmm.

Anyway, I would definitely repurchase this cleanser and I also have my eye on Honey Bronze Bronzing Gel for Face after I saw Ruth Crilly apply it in one of her videos, but is there anything else from the Body Shop you would recommend? Wanna get some use out of my rewards card!
