Spring is here - if you want proof, let's take a look at the wonderful flowery packaging on No 7.'s Spring collection. I always feel a bit conflicted about No 7.'s products and here is why .... I don't like the packaging (for the most part) and I think that the products are overpriced. In saying this, I do actually like the products, the quality is always quite good and for this limited range they have collaborated with Lisa Eldridge (and yes I mean makeup artist extraordinaire that we all have a girl crush on - click here to go to her site).
Part of me thinks that Boots know No 7. products are a tad overpriced, why else would they offer a €7.50 off voucher every couple of weeks, and while I would object to spending full price on a lot of the products, put a money-off voucher in my purse and watch it burn a hole.
I recently had a couple of money-off vouchers and the spring collection was just released ...it was meant to be.
I picked up the highlighter, it cost €17.50 which is pricy for a highligher from the chemist but €10.00 (with the money-off voucher) is brilliant value. The packaging is bright and colourful with images of watercolour flowers and the case is made of hard plastic.
I missed out on the amazing highlighter that Laura Mercier released at Christmas (see sometimes I actually keep to shopping bans) so this is a lovely alternative. The powder is soft and the product is buildable - from sheer highlight to C3PO.
Being a bit of a lipstick junkie I picked up Blooming Pink - please remind me not to buy anything for my lips for a while, I have to use some of my lip products up-. The lipstick costs £10.00 (Sorry I seem to have lost my receipt so I dont have the EURO price) .
Above is a swatch of the lipstick as you can see the colour is very sheer but buildable, its a good lipstick if you want to try brights but want to start on the sheerer side.
This is quite a heavy layer (I slapped it on like my life depended on it) of the lipstick on so you can see the colour (sorry for the ronnie shot) the colour is very milky looking. It's also good to note that the money off vouchers are also accepted when No 7. are on the three for two offer... which is brilliant - two offers in one.
Síle and I took advantage of the 3 for 2 and she got the Cream Blush in 'Blossoming Pink' which is actually a gorgeous coral. It reminds me a lot of a cream blush version of Benefit's Cha Cha Tint. It hasn't been out of Síle's make-up bag since she got it.
