Weekend Away Beauty

Last weekend I had a lovely little weekend away in Belfast to see The Boss (Warning:  When you see Bruce Springsteen live, it will change your life).  It was a quick trip but I tried to get a bit of shopping done but was very sad to see that the CCO in Junction One had closed (so had the Oasis Outlet in Banbridge).  I didn't pick up that much but I thought I would show you what makeup I brought with me.

When I go away I like to travel light even when it comes to makeup, and the perfect little set for a holiday or weekend trip is Benefit's The Bronze of Champions (we have a post on it here). This little kit has all you need for a complete face including a cream eye shadow, an eye shadow, bronzer, highlighter, the award winning They're Real mascara and a lip gloss (which I had in my pocket).  It creates a beautiful natural looking glowing face in a couple of easy steps, which is exactly what you want when you're on holidays.

Skincare was going to be quick and simple - I grabbed some Johnson's face wipes (which doubled up as a quick refresher when we were on the road).  Although I don't normally use facial wipes they are grand for a weekend away.  Moisturiser was a sample size of Stila's new moisturiser which is a lovely cream/gel consistency.  As you can see I was going for quick and easy.

Continuing with the easy theme, for my foundation I used Clarins BB Cream* (in shade 2). When I got this earlier in the year it was a little too dark for me but since we have had a couple of weeks of sun it's a much better fit.  I am not a fan of BB Creams but this is the nicest that I have tried especially when I mix in a tiny bit of Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer In Golden Beige it leaves the skin looking radiant and an added bonus is it has a SPF 25.  To cover up my dark circles I use Benefit Fakeup* which I use every day - it's perfect coverage for me.

We stayed in the Europa Hotel which is a great hotel with friendly staff and a rubber duck to greet you in your room,  because of the concert we found it hard to get a room in Belfast but managed to get a bargain using the site Travago which seemed to have rooms in hotels that were already booked out.
