Bourjois Color Edition 24 H Cream Eyeshadow

Swatches: on the left is Pétale de Glace and Or Désir is on the right.

I'm a major fan of cream eyeshadows. I love the simplicity and quickness of just using your fingers to apply a wash of colour on the lids, and it usually means you can get away without a primer as well. Always a bonus when I have about three minutes to do make up in the mornings (my snooze button gets a lot of use).

I've been a long time user of Benefit's Creaseless Cream shadows and Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Cream Shadows but it's great to have more choice and more affordable options now that the 'drugstore' brands are getting in on the cream eyeshadow action. Bourjois is the latest to join the club with their Color Edition 24H  cream eyeshadows.*

Available in six shades, we have two of them to show you today, Pétale de Glace, a kind of dusky, silvery pink and the golden Or Désir. The smooth texture of these reminds me a lot of Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre shadows, although these are a little firmer. The formula is cream to powder and true to their word, they set to a powder finish pretty soon after they make contact with the skin. These particular shades aren't hugely pigmented when applied to the lids, but the colour is buildable and they deliver a lovely shimmery iridescent effect which I really like. Bourjois promise 24 hours of wear - I don't know about that, but I did get a good 8 hours of creaseless wear, without using a primer. Not bad in my book! These are €8.99 each, and available now.
