The Body Shop Body Sorbets

When I first got the Body Shop's new Body Sorbets body moisturisers I had a sniff of them and a little try-out on the back of my hand and put one in the shower and used it as a shower gel twice. Of course it didn't lather up at all but I thought, ya know it's grand. It smells gorgeous and it's quite nice for shaving legs with. Then for some reason I actually read the back of the tube - DOH.  I don't know if my mistake was because of the packaging, the texture, or because I was having a particularly blonde week. Probably mostly the blonde thing but the texture of these moisturisers is quite unlike any other I've ever tried. It's light, almost whipped, and well, sorbet-like. It's really light but still very moisturising and absolutely perfect for the heat wave we're having at the moment. I don't know about you but I can't bear heavy moisturisers in this heat so I'm loving the refreshing texture of these sorbets - even better if you put them in the fridge - just don't mistake them for something edible! (Or shower gel - DOH)

They come in five 'flavours' - Mango, Moringa, Pink Grapefruit, Satsuma and Strawberry - and are available now. In fact they're 30% off this weekend!

Dior Addict Fluid Stick 575 Wonderland

I kinda knew when I picked up the Dior Fluid Stick in Aventure (here) that I would be back for another fluid stick.  I was very mature and grown up and decided that I was going to wait until I save the points on my Boots card.  Dior Fluid Sticks are a beautiful lip product, they are the colour of a lipstick, the application of a gloss and the feel of a balmy gloss but the down side is they are €34.50  (ouch).  When I discovered I had enough money on my Boots card it took me about 7 seconds to head straight for the Dior Counter in Liffey Valley (fast becoming a dangerous place due to the very lovely Makeup Artist who works there) and picked myself up the number 575 Wonderland.

As you can see the packaging is adorable - it looks like a lipstick even thought its a gloss, the consistency of the product is almost gel like, leaving your lips with a glossy high shine finish which I adore.

Fluid Sticks do not stain your lips, they gently wear off leaving such a pretty look to your lips.  I love everything about them (except the price).

Roger & Gallet Huile Gourmande Fleur De Figuier Ultra Nourishing Oil

Its not often I try a product and think I LOVE YOU straight away - especially a body care product but Roger & Gallet Huile Gourmande Fleur De Figuier Ultra Nourishing Oil* has blown my mind and senses away.
If your looking for a real treat for your body this nourishing oil is really the way to go.  I love to use oils in the summer and this one is especially beautiful.  Its a luxurious treat for your body while but quite practical.  The oil has 10 plant oils which make it amazing for your skin but its the fragrance that I love.  When its very humid I am slightly put off perfume, I can find it overwhelming and suffocating.  The Fleur De Figuier fragrance from this oil is pretty and feminine without being overpowering.

The oil absorbs wonderfully into the skin - but its still an oil so give yourself a minute or two before you get dressed.  It is perfect for the front of the legs (the driest zone in the body) and to add a bit of sexy gleam to the skin without going full on disco queen.  The fragrance is beautiful and subtle and when I use the oil I don't tend to use a fragrance - the fragrance doesn't last all day but the skin feels wonderful all day.  You can also use this oil lightly in the ends of your hair - for some sexy fragranced hair.

I have been lashing on this oil because I love it, I find the fragrance really relaxing.  When I get a fancy body product I tend to just use it on my arms and chest (I cant really smell my legs and use any old rubbish on them) but I have been loving rubbing this oil in, because it leave the skin so hydrated and feeling silky soft and smelling wonderful I have been using this all over.  Its has been my summer multitasking treat.

RRP €26.95 for 100ml

Beach Waves from L'oreal

I love beach waves but my hair has a little hate/hate relationship with products which claim to give you Beach Waves.  I have found that instead of looking like a relaxed and chilled Californian girl I end up looking a little more like Crazy Cat Lady.  I have been suckered into a fair few products which claim to give you easy beach waves - last year I decided the madness must stop after I ended up looking a cross between a massive blonde candy floss and a giant spiders nest (when I met my friend after work she just stared at me and said "what is up with your hair".  I donated all my beach wave products and decided to move on with my life.

This year a little product called Beach Waves from L'Oreal* came into my life, honestly I wasn't holding out much hope but MAN I LOVE IT.  If I am being honest with you part of my love for beach waves is the idea and the look that they don't require much work, if there is anything I hate more is faffing around for hours with my hair, especially during the summer.  Who wants to spend ages drying your hair and styling your hair and pretty much drying it out?  NOBODY thats who.
L'Oreal Beach Waves is easy - you wash your hair (obviously) then you dry your hair til its nearly dry. Spray a bit of the product onto your hair (not into your mouth as I accidentally did the first time - sweet lord don't do this cause it will knock you out).  Then you separate your hair into about 5 or so sections, twist each section until it winds into a bun, secure each bun and leave to dry.  Even a blonde could do it.

As well as the Beach Wave product the kit contains a wide tooth comb and a nifty little net which your place around your buns for that sexy granny look (its actually quite handy for keeping your hair out of the way and in place).

When you let down your hair (I like to give the buns a quick blast with the hairdryer before I let them down) ta da - perfect casual beach waves.  What I love most about this product is it leaves your hair soft and touchable - a soft cascade of waves you can run your fingers through (personally I hate hair that looks stiff and that you cant touch).

Beach Waves is so easy to use (especially if you don't spray it in your mouth), sometimes I haven't managed to gauge if my hair is dry enough when I put it in the little buns (it feels dry but I have really thick hair) one time I was in a rush and the buns were not dry and so the waves had a little less oomph.  If you have thick hair my advice would be dry your hair for longer.

If you want soft, touchable waves I would definitely recommend L'Oreal Beach Waves (€17.85 150ML)

L'Oreal Professional have also created a in salon service which gives you beach waves for up to 8 weeks (ooo imagine).  L’Oréal Professionnel Beach Waves is available from L’Oréal Professionnel salons nation-wide. Call 0845 6000 122

MAC Lipsticks - Syrup and Kelly Yum Yum

I don't really pay attention to MAC's collections they pass me by in a whizz.  I am not a huge MAC fan - there are plenty of other brands out there - but every once in a while a colour will grab my attention (and they always seem to be limited edition shades).   A few years ago (cant remember what collection or year sorry) MAC released Candy Yum Yum which was a pretty intense matt pink, this was before the market was flooded with hyper shades of lipstick.  I loved the shade but found the lipstick very difficult to work with (especially with my dry lips) and always applied a little clear gloss on top to make it more wearable.  Its a stunning shade but a pain to work with.

Recently MAC released the Osbourne Collection and I spied with my little eye the shade Kelly Yum Yum which is Candy Yum Yum's satin finish sister.  I thought it was my duty of care to find it a home.  I also had 6 empty MAC products (well 5 empty and 1 rancid lip gloss) so I decided to do a Back to MAC.  After much swatching and discovering that you cant Back to Mac Limited edition lipstick (higher price on limited edition packaging I am assuming) - I went for the shade Syrup which is a your lips but better kinda shade. (Very Rosie Huntington-Whiteley) The shade was in the back of my head and it wasn't until later that day when I met the lovely Karen from Lovely Girlie Bits I realised she had picked it up the week previously and planted the seed in my brain.

Two very different shades and both very lovely.

Kelly Yum Yum is so much easier and forgiving to wear on the lips.

Syrup is a simple and pretty shade.

Have you picked up any good MAC Lipsticks recently?  What are your shade recommendations for Back to MAC?  ( I am pretty sure I have a few more rancid lip glosses floating around).
