Current Favourite Blush (Smashox, Bourjois, Max Factor and of course Stila)

Is it just me or have recent blush releases been amazing?  I'm not generally a blush girl but so far this year blushes have been the products to get me most excited.  I have been meaning to do a post on each of these -sorry blame the baby being adorable - I have found blushes invaluable in helping bring life to my tired and zombie like face.

As I have a bit of redness in my cheeks I used to avoid blush and during the summer I have a bad habit of relying on bronzer to give colour to my face as we move into Autumn (sob) I rely on bronzer more and more.  I have discovered in old age (ill get my zimmer frame) that it is essential to use blush, it gives life and youth to the face.  If you only use bronzer or only use contour your face can look very flat.  Good blush will enhance your face without drawing attention to any redness or discolouration.
Smashbox LA LIGHTS Blendable Lip and Cheek Colour (€34.00) I picked up Beverly Hills Blush (and Venice Beach Bronze) a couple of months ago.  I love how easy LA Lights are to use, you simple draw on your face and blend.  I have a smilier (but more expensive) product from Charlotte Tilbury which I also love.  If your heavy handed these blend out like a dream.  I use my finger to blend but there is a handy sponge applicator in the other end of the product.  There are 5 shades ranging from a beautiful highlighter (you will be mine next) to a fab bronze.  You can pick up Smashbox in larger Boots shops (hello loyalty points) and also in Arnotts.

Bourjois Aqua Blush* (€10.49) I Love Bourjois it has such a rich history (over 150 years old) but it still manages to launch up to date products.  Aqua Blushes claim to be 12 hour - lets face it our Summer hasn't really put any products to the sweat resistance test.  I love the gel/cream consistency of Aqua Blush and you need the tiniest amount of product (half a pump will do both cheeks) which gives a wonderful sheen to your cheeks.

Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush (€26.00) Be -Stila my beating heart.  I know you will think I am totally biased because of my love for Stila but Aqua Glow Watercolor Blushes have been my favourite makeup launch of the year.  I love that Stila continue to develop and release new and innovative products and while the Stila girl may have been shelved (sob) the new packaging is sleek, sophisticated and feminine.  AGWB (Long name) release product through a mesh like surface, I have been taking the product from the lid (as shown below) so you dont use the mesh.  The blush itself has delicate shimmer which softly highlights the cheeks - perfect for those who want a gleam on the skin but not a specific highlight. You can use a flat foundation blush to apply the product or use your finger.  I have so much love for these little pots, Stila you have done me proud.

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush* (€11.49).  Max Factor for me is a brand that can be very hit and miss, its a brand with huge history and indeed for me huge personal history because I remember going into Roches Stores with my Nana to buy their powder in the shade Candle Glow.  I feel its a brand that can be somewhat overlooked but they still create some brilliant products like the Creme Puff Blush which are said to be a dupe of Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush.  While I cant say if they are an Hourglass dupe I can say they are fantastic blushes which give a lovely colour and glow to the skin.  These definitely give a more natural look to the cheeks and they have beautiful selection of 6 shades which range from a delicate whisper of pink to beautiful and bold (but still very wearable) berry.
The blushes have a marbleized finish - honestly I cant pick a favourite shade.  Don't they look like cakes and they are a delightful as cakes.
Creme Puff Blush - not over the top, not in your face but they give beautiful colour to the face.
