Stila Stay All Day Lip Liners Pinot Noir and Zinfandel

When I spied on Instagram Autumn would see the release of 8 Stay All Day Lip Liners from Stila I got quite excited.  I had just been thinking about Stila's fantastic lip liners of old (some of which I have in the Stila Vault).
There are 8 shades to choose from all of which are named after wines (great news for you wine lovers).    All the basic lip shades are covered and in a new Stay All Day formula which is enriched with vitamins C and E.  I have been quite a fan of colouring my lips with a liner and then wearing a hydrating lip oil (my favourite is Clarins) so I was very excited to receive 2 shades to try.
The lip liners are firm enough that they will not slide off the lips and soft enough to feel comfortable on the lips.

First up is Pinot Noir a true classic red.  Its going to be very difficult for fans of the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt not to smile at the mere mention of Pinot Noir.
Zifandel is a Pink Nude - perfect for everyday wear
Left to Right : Pinot Noir and Zifandel
Pinot Noir
Zinfandel (which I absolutely LOVE and have been wearing ALL THE TIME)

Stila have also released 12 Stay All Day MATTE'ificent Lipsticks which promise intense, wearable MATTE colour as part of the Autumn Collection.  I will review them as soon as I pick one up.

Stila Stay All Day liners are out now and cost £13.50 (not sure of the Euro price) and you can pick them up from and Harvey Nicks Dundrum. Pin It

Urban Decay Vice Frenemy

I really love the new Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks. At €18.00 they are a great price for a fantastic lipstick and pretty bullet.  I love the ones I have (review here) but since pink lipsticks are my absolute Vice it would be really rude of me not to pick up the most outrageous and brightest pink shade I could find.
Let me introduce you to Frenemy a bright vibrant blue based pink with a cream finish (which means extremely comfortable on the lips).

Urban Decay have a liner to match Frenemy but they did mention to me that the liner Anarchy might also be a good match.

I love how bright and vibrant Frenemy is, the cream finish means you forget you are wearing a lipstick while you are happily rocking the brightest pink known to humankind.

Urban Decay Vice lipsticks are out now and cost €18.00 (which when you consider a No7 lipstick costs €14.00) its a brilliant price point for a higher end lipstick.  There are 100 Vice shades and finishes to choose from.  I double dare you not to find a shade you love.

Stila Summer 2016 - Perfect Me Perfect Hue Eue & Cheek Palettes

Stila's Spring collection concentrated on perfecting the skin and the Summer Collection has given us 4 fantastic eye and cheek palettes.  I have been slowly picking up the palettes (I have 3 of them and borrowed the last one to show you).

The palettes are called Perfect Me Perfect Hue and they contain 5 eye shadows and 2 cheek colours all for a fantastically priced €35.00.  The palettes are designed around skin tone and colouring so there is Fair/Light, Light/Medium, Medium/Tan and Tan/Deep.  The shades might be designed towards specific skin and colouring you can of course pick whichever palette tickles your fancy.  The palettes which grabbed my attention are definitely the darker palettes which had such pretty shades.

At my happy place the Stila counter Harvey Nicks Dundrum

I look like a proud glowing mamma with her children but I was in fact getting my first peek at Stila's Perfect Me, Perfect Hue eye and cheek palettes
The palette is the same size as the Stila Correct and Perfect - with gold and subtle leopard print design.
The palettes are cleverly curated with the base eye shadow shade being larger (as you will use more) a highlighter shade, a crease shade, a shade for liner and each palette has a standout shimmery metallic shade.  As with all Stila shadows they can be used dry or wet for more intense look.  There are also 2 cheek colours (which you can use as a eye shadow if you so wish).  Stila shadows are very finely milled so they do kick up some powder when you dip your brush so make sure you tap your brush before you apply to the lid.  Stila eye shadows are fantastic quality and these palettes are no different.

I think the metallic shades which are in the middle of each palette are simply stunning and the quality is outstanding, they are buttery soft and really pigmented.  I would love if Stila created a palette made up of all the metallic shimmery shades.

First palette to swatch is the Fair/Light palette.  This is the only palette I dont own, I borrowed this from my friend who has red hair and very fair skin.  My friend adores the palette and uses it every day.  The colours are very light (and slightly less pigmented than the other palettes) so unless your are very very fair one of the other palettes will suit you better.

Light/Medium is not only beautiful but its also a palette that would be universally flattering.  This is the kind of palette that could create the perfect everyday look or a beautiful bridal look.  The shades in both the eye shadow and the blushers are so beautiful and classic.  I think Light/Medium palette would make a fantastic present for both the makeup lover and novice.
Medium/Tan  has that stunning Rose Gold metallic shade (and was my first palette to pick up), the blushers are more intense (and very pigmented).  It creates a warmer look bolder look.
Tan/Deep as you would imagine has the deepest shade selection - again the metallic shimmer shade was so rich and pretty I was delighted to get this as a birthday present.

(I was trying to show you the swatches beside the palettes apologies if they are not as clear as normal)

The back of the palette gives the names of the shades and where you can place the shadows.

My Stila Perfect Me Perfect Hue palettes have been getting so much love and attention.  While I love a large makeup palette with lots of shades I generally tend to use the same shades over and over again, leaving some shades untouched.  These palettes create beautiful makeup looks.  Every shade in the palette is usable and wearable.

Take or leave them?   I would leave the Fair/Light palette unless you are very fair. If I was to recommend one palette (ooo thats a tough one) I would say Light/Medium as I think its the most beautiful and universally flattering.

Stila Perfect Me Perfect Hue palettes cost €35.00 (bargain) and you can get them in Harvey Nicks Dundrum and at

Elie Saab Rose Couture

If your a fan of Elie Saab fragrances Rose Couture will have been on your radar for quite some time.  I have discovered that Elie Saab fragrance fans are very loyal which its easy to be when the brand create such fabulous fragrances that are easy to wear but distinctive from the masses.  Rose Couture was a spring launch but its the kind of fragrance which will lend itself to any time of the year.

Lets explore the notes
Top Notes: Peony Rose, Orange Blossom, Bergamot
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Vanilla, Peach, Litchi
Base Notes: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Caramel

As the name suggests Rose Couture is a rose based fragrance, for me rose fragrances conjures up images of old ladies and extreme floral scents.  Rose Couture is a very different fragrance, the mix of Patchouli and Sandalwood make it a much punchier and deeper fragrance.  There is nothing old lady about Rose Couture

I love Patchouli in fragrances but it mixes terribly with my skin.  I adore the recent gourmand fragrances (like Angel and Lancome La Vie Est Belle) on other people but I simply cant wear them.  I was delighted to find that I dont have that issue with Rose Couture, the mix of deeper scents with soft floral not only works perfectly but is an interesting mix.  I adore the dried down scent.

The bottle is in the now classic Elie Saab fragrance shape (if it isnt broke and looks classic and stylish, dont change it).

Elie Saab Rose Couture is out now. Pin It
